PREVENT YOURSELF FROM PAYING HEFTY PENALTY FEES

With the implementation of the New Motor Vehicle Act of 2019, there has been a massive pressure on the vehicle users to not break any rule. Even parking your vehicles improperly or illegally falls under traffic rules violation. Therefore, every responsible citizen should have a good understanding about all the rules to avoid paying heavy penalties.

THE PARKING RULES LISTED UNDER THE NEW MOTOR VEHICLE ACT, 2019.
  • Do not park your vehicle in such a way that can cause obstruction for other vehicles.
  • You need to park your vehicle according to the parking signs and markings.
  • We aren’t allowed to park in a no parking zone or where parking is prohibited.
  • Parking on the footpaths or too away from the footpaths is also prohibited.
  • We are not allowed to park in front of private properties where there is clear sign of no parking.
  • Parking is also not allowed on main road or the wrong side of the road.
  • Don’t park in a manner that can cover or obstruct road signs.

“NO PARKING” FINES IN INDIA

If you happen to violate any rules listed above, you will have to pay the penalty fees. The fee amount differs from place to place. The heaviest penalties have to bear by the rule breakers in the metropolitan cities like Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, etc.

The fines in Delhi start from Rs. 500 if you happen to park illegally or improperly.
Parking in a “no parking” zone in Bangalore leads to paying a hefty amount of minimum Rs. 1000.

The BMC in Mumbai has imposed a fee starting from 5000 to 8300 for two wheeler vehicles, if parking related rules are broken. For the same, the amount is from Rs. 11000 to Rs. 17, 600.

STRICT IMPLEMENTATION OF THE RULES
There is a need to impose the rules strictly and to ensure all the people are following the rules. Lack of human resources and technology can obstruct the rules to get imposed more strictly. These obstructions can prove to be a challenging part on the government as well as the police force to effectively implement the rules.

We can advise the people to use the vehicle only if necessary. Increase in the parking fees, taxes and restrict parking of vehicles on certain areas should be promoted. This will help the vehicle riders and the people to follow the rules properly and fully. The traffic rules should also include parking products like traffic cones, sign boards, etc. These products will help direct the vehicles and the people where to go without directing them.
